SOUNDWORXX Studio

In 1996, Bernhard Weiss founded his recording studio, SOUNDWORXX. After working in many studios around the world, he decided to become independent of studio time and financial constraints. He benefited from collaborations with producers like Keith Olson, Joey Balin, Rolf Hanekamp, Charly Bauerfeind, Thomas Kemper, and more. Perhaps that's why the first AXXIS production in his studio, "Back to the Kingdom," became a mega-seller! It marked the first step towards independence.

2001
THE DECISION

In 2000, Bernhard Weiss and Harry Oellers founded their own music publishing company called Phonotraxx Publishing. The publishing contracts with EMI Music expired, and the licenses for the AXXIS songs reverted to the authors. The goal was to become even more independent from the conventional music industry.

2011
PUBLISHING + LABEL

In 2011, the music publisher Phonotraxx expanded into a label. As the rights/licenses to EMI returned to the band AXXIS, Harry and Bernhard founded the Phonotraxx label. The first Phonotraxx release was a real DVD booklet recorded and filmed by fans at Bochum/Zeche.

2015
ONE STEP FURTHER

In 2015, Phonotraxx opened its doors to other artists as well. With the CD release "Praying the World" by Dawn of Destiny, Phonotraxx took another step forward, establishing itself as an artist label.



...and the evolution continues. Only one thing remains. Phonotraxx is and will remain independent and authentic, led as a label by artists for artists.
